The UOC promotes knowledge and new technologies exchange, encouraging improvements in teaching and research, by linking to the following international networks.

EADTU (European Association of Distance Teaching University)
The reference network that brings together European distance and online universities. It is organised in taskforces that work on issues such as higher education policy, lobbying, e-learning, e-mobility and OER. It receives funding from higher education institutions, alumni and projects from Europe and other organizations.

Vice President Llorenē Valverde is a member of the Multilingual Open Resources for Independent Learning (MORIL) taskforce on Open Educational Resources (OER).
Joan Pujolar and Miquel Strubell, professors of Arts and Humanity Studies, belong to the Academic Network for Humanities.
Currently the virtual UOC library is member of the Learning Support Working Group (LLSWG) and has participated in the building of the ELLSI Blog: European Librarians and Learning Support Sharing Ideas (http://ellsi.wordpress.com).
In addition to this, the UOC took part in the projects eXcellence - about quality, 2005-2006- and eMove - about virtual mobility, 2006-2007.

EDEN (European Distance and E-Learning Network)
EDEN promotes development and collaboration in e-learning through support to institutions, other networks and individuals, publications, information services and European projects. This network focuses on professionals in online education and on research in the field of e-learning.
Part of its activity is coordinated through the Network of Academics and Professionals (NAP). These groups, made up of individual members of EDEN and experts delegated by member institutions, meet in forums in the field of open, distance, flexible and e-learning.
Professor Albert Sangrą has been a member of the networks Executive Committee since 2003 and was named Eden Fellow in 2007. Professor Montse Guitert has been a member of the Network of Academics and Professionals Steering Committee since 2008 and was named "Eden Fellow" in 2008.

EFQUEL (European Foundation for Quality in e-Learning)
This network is focused on quality in e-learning and on promoting innovation and excellence. One of the main objectives is to establish a European Quality Mark. Among the projects connected to quality is UNIQUe, which aims to facilitate the improvement of higher education e-learning-related processes and management.

EMUNI (Euro-Mediterranean University)
The idea was born as part of the Barcelona Process, its objective is the creation of a forum for higher education among Mediterranean countries. This is a new network created in 2008. The UOC is a founding member.

EPUF (Euromed Permanent University Forum)
This forum aims to transfer the application of the Bologna Process to Mediterranean and European universities through programmes such as Erasmus Mundus, and dialogue between cultures through partnerships with other institutions.
There are 5 working groups in the network focusing on: Mobility; Harmonisation and Quality Assurance; Management and Training; Human Development and Active Citizenship, and Communication and e-learning.
The UOC took part in the forum held in Marseilles in October of 2008, presenting the campus.cat project.

EUA (European University Association)
The EUA is the association that helps shape European higher education and public policy in this area. It is a lobbying association that acts in Europe on aspects related to university education.
It contributes to the creation of European policy on higher education as a forum for the concerns, needs and future challenges of universities.
The UOC has been a full member since 2008.

EUCEN (European University Continuing Education Network)
This network was founded in 1991, with 212 members from 42 different countries, is the largest multidisciplinary European association.
Its main mission is to enable the exchange of experience and information between members on current LLL regulations and policies and establish contacts with lifelong learning policy makers to influence on related policies.
Another objective is to harmonise levels of quality and to contribute to the development of an effective university credit transfer system that would be accepted between all the institutions the network.

EUNIS (European University Information Systems)
This network encourages contact between those responsible for information systems in higher education or research institutes and organisations in Europe. The UOC has been a member since the beginning of 2009.
